How to Edit PDF Metadata: Title, Author and Keywords
Change the title, author, subject and keywords stored inside a PDF, or clear them before sharing. Free and private, in your browser.
What PDF metadata is
Every PDF can store document properties such as the title, author, subject, keywords, creator and producer. PDF viewers and file managers show them, and they often come from the app that made the file rather than from you.
How to edit it
Open the PDF Metadata Editor and drop in your PDF. Edit the Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Creator or Producer fields, separating keywords with commas, then click Save and download PDF. Your file is processed in your browser and is never uploaded.
Clearing details before you share
To remove a name or app from the standard properties, empty the field and save a copy. Some PDFs also contain a separate XMP metadata block that this tool does not change, so check the saved file in a PDF viewer if privacy matters.
The page content stays the same
Only the document properties change. The pages, text and images are untouched, and the modification date is updated when you save.
