Rectangle trims to a straight box and keeps the PDF text selectable. Free corners lets you drag each corner on its own to match a tilted or skewed scan, and the page is straightened, so it is saved as an image.
Does the crop apply to every page?
Yes. The area you set on the first page is applied to all pages in the document.
Will the text still be selectable after cropping?
In Rectangle mode, yes, because only the visible area changes. In Free corners mode the page is redrawn to straighten it, so the text becomes part of the image.
