About Advanced Image Encoder
Advanced Image Encoder is a free Becoderr tool. It needs no sign-up, runs fast and privately, and works right in your browser for most tasks. For the few server-based tools, your files are processed in memory and discarded immediately after the operation.
Frequently asked questions
Is my image uploaded to encode it?
No. Your browser's own image codecs do the encoding on a canvas locally; nothing is sent to a server.
Why does JPEG XL show as unsupported?
No browser currently ships a built-in JPEG XL encoder, so the option is included for when support arrives but can't produce a file yet. AVIF and WebP already work in Chromium-based browsers like Chrome and Edge.
Does it work the same way on my phone?
It follows the same browser support rules on mobile as on desktop: AVIF and WebP encode fine in Chrome or Edge on Android, while Safari and some other browsers may not support encoding one or both formats yet.
Can I compare all the formats side by side?
Not at the same time. It shows the size for one format at a time based on the toggle you pick, so you switch between AVIF, WebP and JPEG XL to compare their resulting sizes one after another.
Is this tool free to use?
Yes. Every tool on Becoderr is completely free with no sign-up required. Signed-in users get higher file-size limits.
