How to Remove UTM and Tracking Parameters From a URL
Strip utm_ tags and click IDs such as fbclid and gclid from links so they are shorter, cleaner and easier to share.
Why links carry tracking tags
Marketing links often end with utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign so analytics tools can see where visitors came from. Social platforms and ad networks add click IDs such as fbclid and gclid. None of them change the page you land on.
How to clean links
Open the UTM Link Cleaner and paste one URL per line. The cleaned links appear immediately, and a note lists which parameters were removed. Leave Also remove click IDs ticked to strip fbclid, gclid and similar, or untick it to remove only utm_ parameters. Everything runs in your browser.
What stays the same
Other parameters, such as an id or a search query, are kept, and so is any #fragment. Each link is re-written by the browser URL parser, so spacing or encoding in the query can be tidied. Lines that are not full URLs, such as ones without https://, are left unchanged.
When not to clean a link
UTM tags are how your own campaign traffic is attributed. Clean links you receive and pass on, not the links you use to measure your own campaigns.
